MSC Cruises is one of the world's leading cruise lines operating within the fast-paced global maritime hospitality industry. They provide world-class vacations, amazing dining, and top-tier entertainment on the open ocean.

These range from foundational roles in Food & Beverage and Housekeeping, to exciting positions in Amusement, Casino operations, Spa services, Photography, Shore Excursions, and Youth Entertainment.

The Checklist: Do You Qualify?

So, how do you know if you qualify for this opportunity? Look at our requirements below:

  • Age Check: You must be at least 18 years at the time of applying.

  • ID Ready: You should be in possession of a national ID or valid passport.

  • Update Your CV: Have a complete curriculum vitae detailing your educational background and achievements as well as any working experience you may have.

  • Academics: Have a certified copy, minimum Grade 10 or your highest qualification at the time of applying.

  • Language Skills: Since we are looking for German speaking Namibians, please ensure that you have a certification attesting to language proficiency on B1 level. If you do not have a certificate, don’t worry, we will test your language proficiency as part of the application process!

How to Apply (The Game Plan)

So, if you have met all these requirements, you are now ready to submit your application. Our application process follows the following process:

  1. Shoot Your Shot: Click on the submit now button, to be re-routed to a form, which you will be required to complete truthfully and honestly. Please attach all relevant documents!

  2. The Vibe Check: We will review your application and schedule a call with you to assess your language proficiency. We are interested in knowing whether you can speak German fluently, understand and follow a conversation or instructions in German, and whether you can read and write the language.

  3. Feedback Loop: Any participants who will not meet the minimum requirements will be informed accordingly, including why they did not meet the requirements.

  4. Level Up: Once we are satisfied with your application and proficiency assessment, we will load your profile on the MSC recruitment portal for further consideration and processing. From this point forward, your application will be in the hands of MSC and the team will facilitate further processes, including further language assessments.

  5. Stay Connected: We will monitor the processes further and liaise with successful candidates. All other candidates, successful or unsuccessful, will be informed by the MSC teams.

The Fine Print (Important Info for Successful Candidates)

All candidates who successfully complete the MSC recruitment process and are awarded a “Letter of Intent” should note the following important information:

  • Medical Clearance: All successful candidates will be required to undertake a comprehensive medical assessment to ensure that they are healthy enough to work in this environment. Note: This medical assessment will come at your own cost (approximately NAD 11,000).

  • Mandatory Training: All successful candidates wil further be required to complete an online Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 2010 training. This mandatory training will be provided at a cost to be deducted from your earnings once you start working as agreed with the company.

  • Passport Rules: All successful candidates are presumed to have a valid passport, older than 3 months from the date of issue. We urge you to apply for a passport as soon as possible if you do not have one! Applicants with passports must ensure that they are eligible for travel for up to 6 months before expiry of their passports. Renew your passport at least six months prior to travel, as boarding may be denied otherwise.
