The inaugural African Green Industries Summit (AGIS) 2026 was officially launched in Windhoek today, commencing the countdown to the summit taking place from 9-10 September 2026 in Swakopmund, Namibia.
Hosted by NEA Consulting under the theme, “Powering African Industries for Sustainable Development,” the summit will bring together governments, investors, project developers, financial institutions and technology leaders to advance green industrial development across Africa.
Delivering the keynote address, Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, Hon. Gaudentia Kröhne, highlighted the importance of green industrialisation in supporting Namibia’s broader economic transformation agenda under NDP6. She further stressed the need for Africa to move beyond exporting raw materials towards value addition, manufacturing and participation in global clean energy value chains.
Speaking at the launch, NIPDB Acting Chief Executive Officer Jessica Hauuanga noted that platforms such as AGIS create opportunities to attract quality investment, strengthen Namibia’s international positioning and expand participation for MSMEs, youth and local enterprises in emerging industries.
The summit programme will feature strategic conferences, leadership roundtables, business matchmaking sessions, project pitching platforms, technical seminars and curated site visits to energy and industrial projects in the Erongo Region.
AGIS 2026 is expected to further strengthen Namibia’s positioning as an emerging destination for sustainable industrial growth, investment and business tourism.
