President Commissions Three National Task Forces to Accelerate Reform and Delivery

Presidential National Task Forces on Economic Recovery, Health, and Housing and Land

On 1 December 2025, Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, officially commissioned three Presidential National Task Forces on Economic Recovery, Health, and Housing and Land. This fulfills a key commitment made during the inaugural Namibia Public-Private Forum (NamPPF) held in October 2025 which convened nearly 500 public and private sector leaders, laid the groundwork for these task forces through sector-specific policy proposals.


The newly launched task forces bring together experts from government, business, labour, academia, civil society and faith communities to collaborate on practical solutions that directly impact citizens.


Speaking at the commissioning event, the President emphasised that Namibia’s persistent challenges such as the rising living costs, limited job creation, housing shortages, unequal access to land and burdens on the health system cannot be addressed in isolation or with outdated approaches. She stated, “These Task Forces are not symbolic. They are instruments of urgency, implementation and follow-through.”


Each task force is mandated to report to the President with clear actions and outcomes, aligned to national development priorities. Their focus areas are:


  1. Economic Recovery: Unlocking growth, supporting innovation and expanding opportunities for youth

  2. Health: Building a more responsive, equitable and evidence-based health system

  3. Housing and Land: Accelerating access to serviced land and dignified housing nationwide
