Tomato Processing Plant
Proposition

Sector: Agriculture

Sub-Sector: Agro Processing

Abstract

Namibia's favorable climate and agricultural potential present a unique opportunity to establish a thriving tomato paste processing industry. By transforming Namibia’s quality tomatoes into high-quality, value-added products, this project aims to drive economic development, enhance food security, and support sustainable farming practices. The processing plant will create a stable market for local tomato farmers, reduce post-harvest losses, and provide high-quality tomato paste for both domestic and international markets, reducing Namibia’s reliance on imports. This venture will generate jobs across agriculture, production, logistics, and marketing sectors, contributing to skill development and economic growth. With Namibia positioned strategically in the Southern African region, the plant has the potential to become a key supplier to regional markets, especially with increasing demand for processed tomatoes across Southern Africa. Additionally, global demand for processed tomatoes continues to grow, presenting further export opportunities. The project will ensure a consistent supply of top-quality tomato paste, boosting local production and positioning Namibia as a leader in the food processing industry.
