Foreword by the Acting Chief Executive Officer

It is an honour to address you in my capacity as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) at a time when our focus remains firmly on translating Namibia’s economic opportunities into investment, enterprise growth and sustainable jobs.
Recent months have demonstrated our mandate in action. At the 4th Namibia Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition, NIPDB complemented investment promotion with practical interventions aimed at strengthening local participation, including supplier pitching, workshops and business-to-business engagements connecting Namibian enterprises to emerging opportunities in the oil and gas value chain.
Our participation as Strategic Partner at the African Green Industries Summit (AGIS 2026) in Swakopmund further positioned Namibia’s investment opportunities before investors and strategic partners, reinforcing the country’s ambitions in green industrialisation, value addition and sustainable development. Internationally, our participation around UNGA81 in New York continued this investment and trade promotion drive, leveraging Namibia’s global engagements to build investor relationships and open market opportunities.
At home, the introduction of the five-year Employment Permit to Conduct a Business represents tangible progress towards improving the investor experience and ease of doing business. We are equally strengthening investor aftercare, enterprise development and collaboration across Government to resolve constraints affecting investment.
Our AGM provides an important opportunity to account for our performance, demonstrate the impact of our mandate and sharpen our priorities for the period ahead. At the same time, developments such as FMD remind us that economic resilience requires coordinated responses that protect productive sectors, safeguard market access and support affected enterprises.
Ultimately, our success must be measured by results: investments facilitated, projects advanced, investor constraints resolved, Namibian businesses connected to opportunities, markets accessed and sustainable jobs created.
I thank our stakeholders and partners for their continued collaboration and look forward to advancing these priorities together.
Julia Muetudhana
Acting Chief Executive Officer
