NIPDB and MIRT launch Namibia’s first Exporters’ Guide

Namibian businesses, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), often face challenges finding clear information on export requirements, market opportunities and available support. The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), with the support of the Ministry of International Relations and Trade (MIRT), has launched the first edition of the Namibia Exporters’ Guide to help address this gap.
Launched in Windhoek on 1 October 2026, the 74 page guide brings together export information from different institutions, regulations and resources. It is designed primarily for first time exporters and MSMEs, while also supporting established exporters exploring new markets.
The guide aligns with NDP6 Pillar One: Economic Growth, Transformation and Resilience. Export growth and diversification are also priorities under NDP6, the National Trade Policy and the African Continental Free Trade Area National Strategy. The Government has set a target of generating N$100 million in export revenues from MSMEs by 2028.
Across twelve chapters, the guide covers export readiness, market selection, regulatory requirements, documentation, logistics, product certification, finance, pricing and risk management. It also includes an export readiness checklist and information on Namibia’s trade agreements and export support ecosystem.
Officiating the launch,
MIRT Executive Director Ms Ndiitah Nghipondoka Robiati said businesses need trade intelligence, operational guidance and accessible support to turn market access into commercial activity. She encouraged exporters to seek support from NIPDB, Namibia’s diplomatic missions and commercial attachés abroad.
NIPDB Acting Chief Executive Officer Ms Julia Muetudhana said the guide is intended to help more Namibian businesses explore international markets and strengthen existing exporters. NIPDB also supports businesses through its High Potential Pool, Business Advisory Services, market intelligence and policy advocacy. Information sharing sessions will follow the launch to help businesses better understand the export process.
The Namibia Exporters’ Guide is available on the NIPDB website.
